Funding Your Online Trading Account

Quick & Easy Guide on how to Deposit Funds on Your Spreadbetting Trading Account.

The quickest and easiest way to deposit funds on your spreadbetting account is via the online trading platform.

Our online payments process is powered by the Secure Trading System. Your card details are fully encrypted using highly sophisticated e-payment software. The Payments tab can be accessed at the top right hand side of the ODL trading platform.

You can credit your spread betting account using the following methods:

Debit Card
Visa and MasterCard (fees apply)
Bank Transfer
Cheque (cheques will have to clear before funds are credited to your account)

Please note: Transaction fees apply when using credit cards:

1.45%* of the value of British Pound transactions
2.00%* of the value of Euro transactions
2.25%* of the value of US Dollar transactions

*Please note that Credit Charge surcharges are subject to change

Your trading account will automatically be debited the credit card surcharge amount if applicable.
There are no transaction fees payable when using UK debit cards.

Online Funding - Quick & easy

Simply click on the Payments tab on your trading platform (top right) to deposit or withdraw funds.

If you wish to make a card payment to your account, please click the ‘Payments’ icon in the top right hand corner of the trading screen. The following page will be displayed:

Please enter the first twelve digits of your debit or credit card number. The currency will be defaulted to the chosen currency of your account; in this example GBP is shown. Once these details have been entered you will be asked for your email address. Once entered please then click ‘proceed’.

The following screen will ask you for confirmation that the card you are using to deposit funds on your spreadbetting account is your own. You will need to tick this confirmation box to proceed with the payment. We are unable to accept funds from a third party and therefore you are only able to deposit funds from a debit or credit card that is in the name of the account holder. The screen also gives details of any charges that may be applicable to you when paying by credit card or in a currency other than Sterling.

Please click the ‘continue’ icon to proceed with the payment process. You will then be presented with a screen that will require you to enter your name and address into the relevant fields. You will need to enter the amount of funds you wish to deposit in the box displayed and complete the remainder of your card details. Once this has been done and you are happy that you have entered all the relevant details correctly, click on the ‘send payment’ icon.

You when will then be shown a confirmation screen once the payment has successfully been taken. An email confirming receipt of your payment for your records will be sent to you.

Bank Transfer - Quick & easy

Another way of depositing funds to your account is via a bank transfer. Both BACS (3 day clearance) and CHAPS (same day clearance) payments are accepted.

When sending a payment please always ensure your account number and name is attached. This speeds up the process of allocating those funds to your account.

Cheque - Quick & easy

Cheques should be made payable to ODL Markets and sent to:
ODL Markets, 8th Floor, Northern and Shell Building, 10 Lower Thames Street, London, EC3R 6AD.

Please note that cheques drawn on UK Banks are subject to the normal six-day clearance period, those drawn on overseas banks may take additional time to clear. In order for the payment to be allocated to your account efficiently please remember to place your spreadbetting account number on the back of the cheque.

Direct Debits - Quick & easy

This can be set up quickly. This free service allows you to make regular payments to your designated trading account. Please call our customer services department for further information.

Funding by Telephone - Quick & easy

Using Debit and Credit Cards: We accept Visa Delta, Solo and Switch cards.

Please call 0800 015 4800 to make your payment and have your card to hand.

Direct Debits can be set up quickly. This free service allows you to make regular payments to your designated trading account.

Withdrawals - Quick & easy

You can also withdraw funds online. Simply click on the Payments tab on your trading platform (top right) to deposit or withdraw funds. Click on the Withdraw Funds tab and a box should appear requesting the amount of funds you wish to withdraw. Please note this amount can never be greater than your Cash (balance) or the amount of Trading Resources that are available on your spreadbetting account.

Funds will be returned to the card from which they were paid into your ODL Markets account. We will endeavour to process your transactions as quickly as possible but please be aware that this may take a few days depending on the nature of the card and the type of currency you are withdrawing.
